Georgia-Pacific is now hiring Utility workers for the day and night shift. Utility personnel play a vital role in plant production by assisting machine operators throughout the saw and planer mills to meet and exceed quality and production goals. Additionally, they ensure a safe work environment that is clear of hazards. We work as a team with every employee responsible for the success of our facility. 052329 - Utility Operator (Entry level) - Saw Mill

Day In The Life Typically Includes:

Assisting equipment operators throughout the saw mill by performing general cleaning and equipment upkeep

Using shovels, rakes, blowers, and power tools to remove sawdust and other debris from work areas

Learning to operate various production and mobile equipment to provide coverage for vacations, absences, etc.

Promoting a safe work environment by keeping work area clean and organized

Learning and applying work processes and understanding how they lead to increased productivity and reduced waste of useable product

Performing facility yard maintenance to include grass maintenance, painting, and trash removal.

Basic Qualifications:

Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed

Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations including wearing safety equipment

Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day

Willing and able to work in a hot or cold, humid, and noisy industrial environment

Willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an industrial or manufacturing Experience in

Experience in a wood products manufacturing environment

Experience operating a forklift

Experience operating industrial manufacturing equipment

Mechanical experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment

Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
