Digital Media Sales Consultant ~Morris Publishing Group (Jacksonville)

Location:  Jacksonville, Florida

This position will generate sales by acquiring new SMB customers and cross-selling current customers for a suite of digital products and services. The telesales rep will be part of a call center team, with each rep focused on the six top Morris markets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform a high volume of outbound calls and proactive touches (e.g. email) to B2B prospects and lapsed customers in order to close sales and achieve sales quota goals
  • Generate awareness of and interest in MSD’s full suite of products and services
  • Understand the client’s advertising needs, and develop the ideal marketing solution
  • Provide exemplary customer service/relationship management and consultative selling
  • Manage and maintain a detailed, accurate and growing pipeline
  • Since this role is primarily cold calling - demonstrate persistence, tenacity, ability to overcome obstacles and handle frequent objections
  • Follow-up on designated leads or target campaigns, as required
  • Effectively use voicemail messages to drive call-backs
  • Conduct online product demonstrations, as needed
  • Be a driving force in the success of the company’s goals by achieving your individual monthly sales quota
  • Update, through “data entry” account touches, quotes, orders and customer contact information in the CRM system. Accountable to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all updates
  • Maintain a current knowledge of market activities including competitive products, pricing and policies, new technology, product specifications and possible new products. Communicate this information to management on a regular basis
  • Consistently follow standard operating procedures and best practices to maximize and increase the success of every business contact


Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. High school degree required.
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record in heavy prospecting and lead generation.  Experience should be in an outbound transactional call environment.

  • B2B experience required
  • Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed sales quotas

  • Able to uncover needs, offer appropriate solutions, negotiate prices and close sales on the phone

  • Able to work in a team environment, working together with colleagues to meet business goals

  • Online advertising sales background is a plus

  • Previous experience using CRM software desired.

  • Internet and internet marketing savvy.  Able to use multiple internet tools to assist with customer research

  • Ability to take direction and learn systems quickly and adeptly

  • High energy, drive, and sense of responsibility

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

Physical Demands:

Must be able to operate general office equipment.  Must be able to fulfill all duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Working Conditions:

Drug-free and smoke-free environment. Large office with considerable traffic, interruptions, and occasional high noise volume. Hours are full time Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
