Digital Editor

We are adding to our staff and have an immediate opening in our First Coast Magazine Group for a Digital Editor to be a part of First Coast Magazine, Health Source Magazine and our recently released Jack.  This individual will work within Drupal SMS and WordPress as the magazine division digital editor.   Tasks includes assists in development, coding for special sections, database development, maintain site functionality, SEO and work with our corporate technical offices to resolve site issues, social media management, content creation, blog partnerships, email marketing campaigns, newsletters and analytics across all publications digital platforms.  Participation in media events after-hours is required.


Qualifications (preferred):

A bachelor degree with an emphasis in digital communications.  

Must have three to five years’ experience managing technical projects and all other aspects of process development execution.

Must be able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines is a must.

Working knowledge of modern website development and best practices.

Must have working knowledge of HTML, CSS, sFTP and SSH.  Basic knowledge of JavaScript (JS), PHP, and CGI a plus.

Basic knowledge of Drupal CMS and Wordpress CMS preferred.

Experience branding building on social media platforms including Facebook Instagram, Snapchat, Periscope, and Twitter.  Must stay abreast of other and emerging social media platforms as they evolve.

Working knowledge of: Adobe Suites CS4, Contactology Email Marketing, Caspio Online Database Software, Basic Code Editor, Google Analytics, Filezilla FTP and others.

Excellent attention to detail and judgment.

Superb communication (written and verbal) skills; working knowledge AP style is preferred.

Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; highly organized.

Must be able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under deadline pressure.

Proficient in computer software programs such as MS Office is required. 

Must have reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and appropriate proof of insurance. 

Must be able to work night/evening hours as participation in after-hours events is required.
